SIP-n-Sketch, New project for 8/24/20

Hi SIP-n-Sketchers:

For Monday, we will start on "San Francisco Belle under red sun". I'm going to use watercolor crayon in addition to acrylic paint. The crayons are applied like a pastel stick but can be blended with water. Additionally, I am not drawing a pencil baseline before applying color.

Rolling Container Garden, 8/2020

Rolling gardens

We finally joined the home gardening trend during the COVID Pandemic. My good friend Aannah K. had given me a few wine barrels many years ago for a rainwater collection system. Unfortunately, I never got around to designing my collection system and the Boss was getting anxious to get rid of the barrels. So, I cut them in half for container plants.

Rolling carts

When filled, the containers would be pretty heavy and I had to build rolling carts to move these around the yard. There were some leftover lumber in the backyard from earlier projects and they were perfect for cart frames. I purchased swivel casters from Home Depot and constructed the bases.

I finally cleaned up my sketch and finished. I was stuck for a little on the shadows and shading, but found a way to tie the colors together.

SIP-n-Sketch:Train on Bridge, in-progress, 7-18-2020

Hi SIP-n-Sketchers:

Here is the in-progress photo of Train on Truss-Arch Bridge.

This sketch seems to be progressing rapidly, like a moving locomotive. It might be that we are sketching/painting in a loose, watercolor approach, and not too compulsive about the details. In any case, there might be only two more sessions remaining on the Train sketch. I have an idea about our next sketch, I think you might like it.
