Inside the Lucerne Hotel on Amsterdam Avenue and 79th, there is Nice Matin, a bistro serving French comfort food for hotel guests and anyone craving a French onion soup. It's a popular spot and great when you get to the Lucerne and don't feel like trekking further for a fantastic meal.

Senator Chuck Schumer says he gets regular deliveries of cheesecake from Juniors Restaurant in New York City. We always make a stop at Juniors whenever we are in the City. Yeah, it's a Big Apple favorite and the interior decor can take you back to the 1950's diners.

We visited the Hammer Museum for the first time in October of last year. Although the Hammer is a smaller museum, their collection is very good. One highlight is their courtyard with desert garden and cafe-bistro for the museum visitors.
