SIP-n-Sketchers:
The new project for this month is "Linda Mar surf check". I know we said landscape, but I thought this would be more fun. It's got elements of land, but also surf and beach. Let's say it's a tribute to surfing making to an Olympic sport.

I wrapped up COVID Night Life, One Way. The final process was filling in details and adding more washes to get the colors right. Since I did not finish during our session, I added a short video of the process at the end here. The music might be cut-off due to copyright.
At the Piedmont Art Walk, my daughter and I were approached by an architect who wanted to borrow our paintings for staging her designs at open houses. Since our paintings could be shown to new audiences, we decided why not.

Hi SIP-n-Sketchers:
Last session, we worked on more pencil line work for windows, bike rack, and street bricks, added washes to define the street lamps, and defined the skyline better.
SIP-n-Sketchers:
First and second sessions of COVID Night Life, One Way. We discussed using thumbnails to work out composition, transferred the preferred composition to paper, and started blocking out the colors of the sketch.
I'm taking a slightly different approach to this sketch by going back to pencil line, usually my last step in previous sketches. I am testing this out for a predominantly watercolor style final sketch.
Hi Sketchers:
By popular demand, a new night scene sketch starts tonight. The project is "COVID Night Life, One Way" and the image is here:
Hi Sketchers:
We completed the COVID Night Life, OAK, this last session. I added a few more washes to the sky, filled in the details of the sweeper truck, and completed the night lights along the horizon. I applied washes over the clouds so they can fade into the background.
Because I couldn't show my work within our 30 minute sessions, I've prepared this video for your reference.
