Refurbished mailbox, 5/2024

It's been about 5 years since installing the "new" mailbox. With the recent weather systems, the mailbox took a beating and needed an update: epoxy sealed roof and mail door. Also, since we repainted the house recently, it also was nice to have consistent body color with the house. Here's the newly refurbished mailbox:

The "roof shingles" took a beating in the last 5 years.

Sketches: Asian Art Museum, Phoenix Kindoms, 5/2024

Beautiful bronze cauldrons are on display in the Phoenix Kingdoms exhibit at the Asian Art Museum. We were amazed that these utensils were made nearly 3000 years ago.

Cafe Sketches: Equator Coffee at the GGB Roundhouse, 4/2024

The Roundhouse at the Golden Gate Bridge used to be a restaurant, then changed to the GGB gift shop, and is now a cafe serving Equator Coffees. I used to work at the GGB as a Senior Bridge Engineer and would stop by the Roundhouse to pick up gifts for friends and relatives. Now, I can stop here on my moto rides, order a mocha, and enjoy the gorgeous view.

It's the last stop before getting onto the Golden Gate Bridge... don't miss it.

Surf Otter 841 - Oh, it's mine now...

In the aloha spirit, Surf Otter 841 borrows a board to catch a few waves in Santa Cruz, California...

It's mine now..., acrylic and color pencil on paper, 5/2024

Don't worry, she'll return it when she catches a few barrels.

Surf Otter - 841 sees something weird, but fun

Santa Cruz's Otter 841 inspires me to rethink the lives of otters. They are curious and want to be part of the fun. Here, 841 is lounging with her friend Dungeness when some surfers disrupt her playtime...

Art Changes, Opening Reception, 5/2024

Lots of fun watching the students enjoying their first art exhibition. Also, much thanks to AEF, Rhythmix Cultural Works, and Pam Chang for putting this altogether.

Kids' artwork from Alameda schools, inspired by the Lion Dance paintings.

My fellow artists and the kids' art inspired by their work.

Whoa - it was pretty packed in the K Gallery...

Artists Alex da Silva, Bill Jeng, and Shanti Lair-Croom
Much thanks!
